Political Detox is the place to go when you are tired of politics as usual. Tired of the many dilemmas presented by the media. Tired of being told what to constantly be afraid of. Tired of all the talk when obviously nobody is going to follow through with any good, solid politics or ideas to get us out of the hole we're all in. Very few of the folks in Congress seem to want to stick to their ideals; after all, they are the elite who have everything to gain as long as the government keeps growing in size and power.
Political logic is an oxymoron! Lately they have been selling us ideas of global warming, political correctness (another direct contradiction) and a whole host of crappola! Both parties are doing it- the democrats are basically insane, we see, and the republicans are as weak as hell! We are betting that all is not quite kosher in Kenosha, as they say. Anyone with a functioning brain can see that the whole process has been hijacked by a bunch of lawyers with agendas- chiefly self-serving ones at that!

Why do many people insist on believing the Russian government, when they lost credibilty long ago? Could it be that their agendas are aligned in destroying the free markets, liberty and capitalism of the West? Hmmm... let's see. If the Russian military was merely responding to Georgian actions, how was it that an entire force happened top be aligned at the border much like what "happened" to the Czechs the last time this same story played out? Why do totalitarian governments continue to think that anyone would actually believe such blatant lies? Answer: They don't, and further, they don't really care. Case in point- China and North Korea, who both continue treating people as slaves even in the face of modern media- which is mostly forbidden in those places. Wonder why?

Goal of PdX: to develop a unique environment, blog and graphical representations of the ironies that are accepted regularly by media and people who like to parrot propaganda that they hear and for some reason think that it's intelligent to engage in conversations about subjects they essentially know nothing about- like us! We do know what we like, however. We don't particularly like the mentality of bureacracies; we hate big government intruding in the details of our lives, and we cannot stand hearing about PC and activist judges handing down insane rulings from the bench! Help!
Goal #2: Inform those who use questionable sources to form opinions and beliefs. People should read about history rather than going with the political orientation of the crowd they run with.
Found on the web -below- you liberals and democrats may not be aware of this, but a little research should prove it; therefore you should be open to the possibility of re-thinking your position on some of today's issues.
One of the more remarkable inversions of language has resulted in the terms "liberal" and "conservative" becoming reversed. To illustrate:
A liberal wants:
1) higher taxes, which take money from the "rich" to fund
2) social programs to fund both the government apparatus to collect the money and run the social programs and to distribute some of the balance to the "poor" and "needy" in order that
3) people will be more "equal" and things will be more "fair", and
4) relies on "victimhood" to establish entitlements.
A conservative wants:
1) lower taxes so that people will have more money to voluntarily
2) donate to the less fortunate and
3) have more money to spend, inspire new businesses and
4) create new opportunities for the less fortunate to make better lives for themselves
and
5) foster self-reliance and personal responsibility.
In short, liberals are for a large, paternalistic, state government which controls (read that limits) individual freedoms in exchange for its services as a redistributor of wealth, while conservatives are for a small government of limited powers, to provide services needed by a nation, but more efficiently provided centrally, while providing the maximum freedom to the individual and the greatest opportunity for self-determination and personal responsibility.
Let's see...
liberals = state dependency and less freedom:
conservatives = individual freedom and personal responsibility.
The US was founded on, and the Constitution was written to form the basis of, old-style liberal values. Those are now "conservative" values.
The terms have become inverted. Thus, the current liberals have beliefs contrary to the fundamental principles of the USA!
In that setting it is clear that "liberals", as defined today, are not patriots. -end of quotation
More-
It's kind of ironic that so many Americans enjoy their freedom, party like crazy, buy iPhones, iPods and video games, ignore politics and generally have a blast- and then they disrespect ("diss") the entire class of humans (conservatives) that provide their safety and freedom. Want to keep the party going? Pay less taxes? Make more money? Yeah? Maybe it's time to start paying attention.
